Be in control!!!

Dear Reader,

"Jack grew up with a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails such that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of their fence. On the first day Jack had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually reduced. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence because of the effort it entails. Finally the day came when he didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father, he then suggested that he start to pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and Jack was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father led him to the fence and said, 'You have done well, my son but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same because whenever we say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this. You can stab a man with a knife, but it doesn't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound will still be there.

This week please remember that verbal abuse is as bad as physical abuse if not worse. We must learn to treat people with dignity, respect and honour in the face of grievances, complaints and disagreements. "He who has control over his emotion of anger can capture a whole city. We must overcome negative emotion with good disposition and never match evil for evil. We often use words to make or mar our relationships. Relationships are rare jewels, indeed they make us happy and fulfilled but sometimes they can hurt us and drive us to tears. Be mindful of your temper this week!"

Have a great week!

Another Bomb blast in North-Central Nigeria!

In the recent times, Nigeria is being faced with diverse menace... Just this morning, there was bomb explosion in three curches in the north western part of Kaduna. As reported, two of these attack were in Zaria, while the third was in the city of Kaduna!

"Casualty figure is yet to be confirmed but a worshipper at the church said he saw three bodies after the attack."

Following these bombings believed to have been carried out by members of Boko Haram, the Kaduna state government has imposed a 24 hour curfew.

The big question that troubles minds is "when will all these calamities end?". "The president said he had consolation in God who is capable of handling every situation and healing the nation." It is, then, high time we took the task seriously..."Pray for the peace of "Jerusalem" (NIGERIA)! May they prosper who love you [NIGERIA - the city of the Lord]!"
