Nigeria's Boko Haram: Will dialogue end the insurgency?

In a speech to the "Forum 2000" Conference, September 4, 1997 at Prague, Czeck Republic, His Holiness the Dalai Lama said and I quote  "In human societies there will always be differences of views and interests. But the reality today is that we are all interdependent and have to coexist on this small planet. Therefore, the only sensible and intelligent way of resolving differences and clashes of interest, whether between individuals of nations, is through dialogue. The promotion of a culture of dialogue and nonviolence for the future of mankind is thus an important task of the international community."

I guessed it is on this note that the Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan has challenged the Islamist militant group Boko Haram to come forward and state their demands as a basis for dialogue. …but the question is: Will dialogue end the insurgency? Readers comments are welcomed.
